Hair and Makeup Artist
We would greatly appreciate it if you could tell us a little about your company.
I am a freelance hairstylist and makeup artist in the entertainment industry. I work on all set types such as film, Tv, music videos and editorial. I get to transform actors into characters and it’s the best part of my job. I also get actors and actresses ready for red carpet and events.
What was your child hood aspirations?
My childhood aspirations were to be a makeup artist or hairstylist in the industry. My mom always reflects back to when I was a kid and I would always tell her I wanted to be in the industry making people pretty!
Can you give our readers a quick answer on business advice?
Business advice: Never let your guard down. Yes it’s ok to have friends but remember in a business sometimes people are only out for themselves. They will quickly burn you to get what they want. It recently happened to me and it nearly broke me. But the trick is to keep going! Stay persistent and keep your eyes on your goal. Every situation is a Blessings not a setbacks.
What was your toughest challenge?
I find my biggest challenge is always doubting myself. I am a perfectionist and I take my job so seriously I want things to be perfect. I get down on myself. I’m learning to see that I do have a talent and I should accept myself for who I am. Self doubt can be a killer and it can show through. I practice telling myself things like.. “Girl you did that!” A little self validation.
