After Car Collision Man Shoots, Kills Woman

Although senseless crimes happen everyday, I still struggle to understand why these type of crimes happen as often as they do.

Deborah Pearl was on her way to work Saturday morning, when all of a sudden 29-year-old Matthew Ryan Desha of North Ridgeville ran a red light and crashed into Pearl’s vehicle.

Desha’s Car flipped several times and Pearl’s car slid forward a few feet. Both parties were able to exit their vehicles. According to witnesses, Desha was armed with a gun after exiting his vehicle and pointed it at Pearl.

Pearl put her hands up and Desha shot her several times. Authorities were called to the scene and found Pearl laying in the street. Police apprehended Desha at the scene.

Pearl died later at the hospital. Police found two more small caliber hand guns in Desha’s vehicle along with drug contraband. There was no motive for this crime.
